I was never planning on ever doing this cover because there are already so many covers of this song out there. But I have been in a funk lately. Not wanting to play nor wanting to make drum covers, so I needed something to get me out of it. Ghost to the rescue once again. I just love playing their songs!
Yea another Ghost cover…I love playing their songs and I want to have the best drum cover versions of their songs. So if I see a Ghost song that could use a good sounding and pretty close to accurate drum cover, I go for it! This tune is one of my favorites and took a little time to learn all the little nuances in the transitions. Even after playing the song for about a month straight, when it came time to filming, I still missed some of the little things and I had to start all over again. Lot’s of screaming outtakes like -“It’s so easy, just remember it!” LOL. Enjoy.
For some reason on this kit preset, I decided to layer an additional crash cymbal from the NY Studio Vol 2 library to Crash cymbal #1 & #4. Not sure why I did that, but it sounds good.
I normally don’t do requests for drum covers because most people want you to play the most outrageous cover that I have no clue how to play. However, when someone commented I should cover Witch Image by Ghost, I just had to. I love the song and I love Ghost; a match made in heaven! The song is not too difficult and I nailed the cover in one take which normally doesn’t happen! Thanks for the suggestion, Moran Shetland
This is still one of my favorite drum covers I did. It’s not a very difficult song at all but it had some elements in the song that I really enjoyed playing; especially all the drum fills near the end.
An amazing song from Foo Fighters’ best album, Wasting Light, with Arlandria as a hidden gem among some killer tunes. What a fun song to track but super difficult to get the tones I really wanted with the libraries I had at the time. Needless to say, it still sounds good and there is nothing really too special with the kit I used aside from EQ and compression. There are some snaps & claps from the SD3 Core Library coming out of the 1st Chorus but everything else is pretty basic. Enjoy!
One of my favorite songs by Ghost, From the Pinnacle to the Pit. I feared recording this drum cover for the longest time because for me, it’s hard to pull off flawlessly live. So this one is a labor of love; many outtakes on this one, and plenty of swearing!
