Foo Fighters – Arlandria

An amazing song from Foo Fighters’ best album, Wasting Light, with Arlandria as a hidden gem among some killer tunes.  What a fun song to track but super difficult to get the tones I really wanted with the libraries I had at the time.  Needless to say, it still sounds good and there is nothing really too special with the kit I used aside from EQ and compression.  There are some snaps & claps from the SD3 Core Library coming out of the 1st Chorus but everything else is pretty basic.  Enjoy!

Ghost – From the Pinnacle to the Pit

One of my favorite songs by Ghost, From the Pinnacle to the Pit. I feared recording this drum cover for the longest time because for me, it’s hard to pull off flawlessly live. So this one is a labor of love; many outtakes on this one, and plenty of swearing!

Collective Soul – Counting the Days

I originally did a drum cover of this song back in 2006 on my old Roland TD-7 drum kit, but since then, I got the Roland TD-30 & Superior Drummer 3. I have always loved this song and figured it was quick and easy, so why not redo it!  Nothing too crazy with this preset.

Ghost – Rats

This is the first song I ever recorded using Superior Drummer 3 and where I focused on getting as close to the original sounds as possible. I never thought this one video would of blown up (if 30,000 views is blowing up -it is for me!)  on YouTube.  I purchased SD3 around Christmas time in 2017 and it took me a good 6 months to finally get the preset sound I was looking for.

To this day, all my presets are based off this one preset which stared off as the Djent preset built in the SD3 Core library.  I then used some different crash cymbals and layered a couple other toms to the existing preset toms to created a more snappying tom sound.  All in all, I am REALLY happy with this preset and sounds soooo good in a decent pair of headphones.
