It's nice to finally cover some Ghost songs again and this one was just fucking fantastic!  Featured in the ending credits of the new Halloween Kills movie, the song just has some great drumming elements that I could not pass up!

I started with my usual Ghost preset but found the snare was too loose and lower in tone, so I stole the snare I used on the Type O Negative cover as it was a more snappy crack to it.  The next hurdle was the use of high rack toms in the original song.  I imported the 8"x8" & 8"x10" Ayotte Maple rack toms found in the Rock Foundry SDX and tweaked them a bit with the ambience channels.  Finally, I think I found a ride cymbal that is my new favorite from the Drums of Destruction EZX -the Sabian 21" AA Rock Ride!  I love this thing, just cuts right through the mix.  I also started using the 18" Meinl Byzance china found in this same EZX because again, it's just awesome sounding.
